  • August 17, 24, 31; September 7, 14, 21, 28; October 5, 12, 19, 26; November 2, 9, 16, 30; December 7, 14; January 11, 18, 25; February 1, 8, 15, 22, March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; April 6, 13, 20, 27 Classes not held on March 1 st and 2nd due to all day prep for evening performances of the school’s plays.

Cost Per Student

  • $45/month Tuition
  • No charge for December; those dates will be used to bring August’s and November’s dates to a full month.
  • This charge is in addition to monthly tuition for NCS students.
  • Remember that if you decide not to continue in Thursday classes, you must still pay tuition until the end of the semester as class activities and supplies are planned/ordered months in advance based on the number of students.

Materials

Dress Code

  • Students should wear clothing that allows them to move freely and to get messy (for some modules).
  • NO shorts. NO sleeveless shirts. NO flip-flops.
  • Also, boys must wear long pants; girls must wear long pants or long skirts.
  • All shirts must be long enough to cover the tops of pants/skirts when the student’s arms are fully extended above the head.
  • Since Thursday classes meet only once a week, this requires only one outfit of compliance.

Schedules & Other information

  • Parents will be expected to make sure their student(s) are spending time at home memorizing that week's items.
  • Due to the fluid nature of the schedule, students cannot take single classes from this program, with the exception of the Civics Class and Career Class (see individual listings for these classes).
  • Parents who drop off their children can come back for lunch if desired.
  • Some classes will be held outdoors as weather and class material permits.

Grades K-3

Building Foundations: Smarts/Feelings/Attitude (Brain/Emotion/Character)

Parents can bring their K-2nd graders to this day of classes. Parents can leave or stay on campus. The schedule will roughly run as follows, though weekly changes may be made to accommodate longer projects in one class, weather, etc.

  • 9:00 – 9:45: Songs for Learning
  • 9:45 – 9:55: Morning restroom break
  • 10:00 – 10:45: Patio PE (indoors during inclement weather)
  • 10:50 – 11:35: Details Are Important (etiquette; Making Memories contest, eye and ear exercises, etc.)
  • 11:35 - noon Lunch
  • Noon – 12:10 Mid-Afternoon restroom break
  • 12:10 – 12:55: Patio PE (indoors during inclement weather)
  • 1:00 – 1:45: Etc. Etc. Class with Mrs. Foix
  • 1:50 – 2:40: Thinking Skills with Mrs. Hancock
  • 2:40 – 3:00: Team Clean and final restroom break
  • 3:00 - Pick-up time. Parents must be on time for pickup.

Grades 3-5

Parents can bring their 3-5th graders to this day of classes. Parents can leave or stay on campus. The schedule will roughly run as follows, though weekly changes may be made to accommodate longer projects in one class, weather, etc.

  • 9:45-9:55: Morning restroom break
  • 10:00 – 10:45 Etc. Etc. Class with Mrs. Foix
  • 10:50 – 11:35 Math Foundations with Monte Hancock (and Numeracy)
  • 11:35 – noon: Lunch
  • 12:00 – 12:10: Post Lunch Restroom break and cleanup
  • 12:10 – 12:55: Art Appreciation and Music Appreciation with Mrs. Hancock
  • 1:00 – 1:45: Social Studies Topics with Mrs. Chardt
  • 1:50 – 2:40: Science & Nature – Team Taught with Barbara Smith and Monte Hancock
  • 2:40 – 3:00 Team Clean 3:00 Pick-up time. Parents must be on time for pickup.

Late Pickup Fees

Parents must be on time for pickup.

  • The late pick-up fee for first late pick-up is $1 per minute per child.
  • The late pick-up fee for second late pick-up is $5 per minute per child.
