  • January 11, 2017 - April 26, 2017; January 11, 18, 25; February 1, 8, 15, 22, March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; April 5, 12, 19, 26 Classes not held on March 1st and 2nd due to all day prep for evening performances of the school’s plays.

Cost Per Student

  • $15 registration fee
  • $70/semester tuition fee
  • $10 Materials Fee
  • All class fees for students enrolled in the Thursday Site Classes is included in their Thursday Site Class Tuition.

Dress Code

  • Students should wear clothing that allows them to move freely and to get messy (for some modules).  No shorts. No sleeveless shirts. No flip-flops.  
  • Also, boys must wear long pants to all classes; girls must wear long pants or a long skirt at all classes.  
  • All shirts must be long enough to cover the tops of pants/skirts when the student's arms are fully extended above the head.

Other information

  • This course is required by the State of Florida before entry into high school.

  • This course will fulfill the Florida required course in career exploration.

  • Students need to be able to read well, be prepared to write, and be prepared to discuss things in class.

  • Some field trips possible for which parent transportation would be needed. These would probably not be on Thursdays.

  • Guest speakers also.

  • The purpose of the course is to expose the student to the local, state, and federal government, as to their functions and to the citizens’ responsibilities, duties, and rights as a citizen.

  • Parents should allow 2-3 hours of time at home to complete homework.
